Popular retailer GameStop has closed more than 1,000 stores by 2023 this year, and information is coming in that there are plans to close more in the future. According to a CNN report, the gaming and electronics retailer said that it expects to shut all stores of this brand.
Gamestop has not yet revealed the names of the locations that are going to be closed, but it has already announced plans for its next chapter. Therefore, now the company says that it is planning to make significant investments in bitcoin right now.
According to Axios, GameStop already has more than 3,000 locations, of which 2,325 are in the United States. GameStop already has more than 15 locations in Alabama, including retailers in the Cullman, Tuscaloosa, and Birmingham metro areas.
What other retailers are closing locations?
JOANN Fabrics, which announced bankruptcy in February, is closing 500 of its 800 stores. United States retail operator Forever 21 has filed bankruptcy twice and is closing all of its stores across the US. Kohl’s is closing 27 underperforming stores in more than 3 dozen states.
