Val Kilmer, star of “Top Gun” and “Batman Forever,” dies at 65

Actor Val Kilmer, best known for his roles as Bruce Wayne in “Batman Forever” and Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone’s movie ‘The Doors’, died at the age of 65. The actor of the 1986 movie Top Gun, who acted in many other famous films of the 1980s, died of pneumonia on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

Val Kilmer’s daughter Mercedes Kilmer has confirmed that their father has died. This legendary actor Val Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and he recovered later, Mercedes Kilmer revealed. After recent health issues, the actor started staying away from films and public and made his last public appearance in early June 2019 for the TwainMania Foundation. After that Val Kilmer has not made any public appearance.

Vil Kilmer had talked about his battle with throat cancer for the first time in an interview in December 2017. While sharing his sad story, actor Val Kilmer revealed that he had undergone a procedure on his trachea, which left his voice hoarse and he started having trouble breathing. The report also said that Val Kilmer’s 2-year struggle with throat cancer was taking a heavy toll on his family.
